Building, a converted 1890s gentleman’s town house doesn’t exactly scream “hotel” from the outside - it’s a substantial brick structure. Once inside though you’ll find helpful friendly staff, chandeliers lavish draperies, gilt gold framed paintings, antiques, elegant four poster beds. The rooms are decorated in a Victorian style, expensive and luxurious, a well stocked hospitality tray, luxury towels, linen, soaps, “little extras” to help with your stay, somehow the flat screen TV’s, Wi Fi and mobile phones don’t spoil this classic look.
After a comfortable nights sleep, start the day with a delicious breakfast, Freshly ground coffee/ tea or juice, your choice, Freshly baked croissant’s, fancy a full English Breakfast? cooked from locally sourced produce, including honey roasted sausages, smoked bacon & fresh free range eggs, leaving early, or having a lie-in, breakfast is prepared freshly, at a time suitable for you.
Many guest now returning again, noticing many changes, we now have a Licensed bar, perfect if you wish to social or not, boasting a fine selection of wines, champagnes spirits and beers, all a fraction of the cost of so many establishments, the outside terrace has had a dramatic make over, tropical plants imported, waterfalls, seating areas, an outdoor smoking area, all magically light up at night. Parking within any city centre is a problem, but with our guest house parking permits you will be able to park directly outside.

Beautiful house, excellent hosts, we made a great choice, everything is done with excellence.
Everything about the Melbury is quality. The people running the place are great - friendly, helpful and very "understanding". Our room (the Garden Lodge) was absolutely fabulous. A very special little sanctuary away from it all. Everything is clean, and your every need provided for. We were only dissapointed we couldn't stay another night. Thank you guys, we had a wonderful stay, and will definitely come back - if you'll have us !!!
